Motovilikha Plants started the renovation maintenance of the T-43 tank that will head the Victory Parade on May 9 in Perm.

On March 27 a T-34 tank that will take part in the Victory Parade was taken to Perm. The vehicle that was used during the Great Patriotic War arrived to the capital city of Perm Krai from Tchaikovsky District.

Perm goes on preparing for the main event of 2015 – the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The highlight of the event is the Victory Parade that will take place in Perm in Oktyabrskaya Square on May 9. This year will see a special ceremony held for war veterans and residents of the city: the authentic T-34 tank that participated in the Great Patriotic War will head the column of military vehicles.

The tank was part of the Soviet military forces that liberated Ukraine and Poland and participated in the battle of Berlin. In post-war period the 16th Tank Division was deployed in Neustrelitz (Federal Republic of Germany) until 1993 when it was redeployed to Perm Region near the town of Tchaikovsky. In 1995 one of the surviving tanks of this division was turned into a war memorial in Markovsky village.

The tank was rolled from Markovsky to Perm where it will participate in the Victory celebrations. Until it is ready to take part in the Parade, the vehicle will be renovated at Motovilikha Plants.

In wartime this Perm plant made a significant contribution to the victory over Nazis invaders. Each forth gun was produced at Motovilikha Plants, and it was the A-19 corps gun produced in Perm that fired the first salvo at Berlin.

The tank will be sandblasted, chromated and painted while the total amount of the work to be done will be estimated after a preliminary treatment. The residents of Perm will see the tank, one of symbols for Victory, at the Parade on May 9.
